O’FALLON, MO – West Community Credit Union praises employees, members and the community for the success of its “CU Give: Veterans Appreciation Drive,” held throughout July benefiting the Veterans Community Project (VCP) in St. Louis, MO. The purpose of the drive was to provide needed donation items, raise funds and bring heightened awareness for VCP. The Veterans Community Project campus includes tiny houses for Veterans experiencing homelessness and an outreach center that provides walk-in support services for any Veteran in the St. Louis metro area.
The credit union collected thousands of items from VCP’s wish list and provided an additional donation of $1,275from their corporate Denim for Dollars program to further support the mission of the VCP. This financial contribution will help provide essential services and resources to Veterans in need.
Julie Golinghorst, Community Engagement Coordinator at VCP, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Like West Community Credit Union, Community is our middle name for a reason. Because of the generosity and support of community partners like you, we can offer low barrier services to any Veteran, regardless of time in service, type of service or discharge status through our outreach center. Thank you for not only the monetary donation and items to fill snack packs, food boxes, and hygiene kits, but also for the time and energy devoted to sharing our mission throughout your network to ensure more Veterans are aware of the services we provide.”
“This donation drive is a fundamental part of our ongoing commitment to support and strengthen our community,” stated Lori Hudson, West Community’s Community Engagement Manager. “We are deeply grateful to those who contributed to this important cause and are proud to be a partner of this great organization.”
