West Community Credit Union would like to congratulate our 2019 scholarship winners!
2019 marks the 24th year West Community Credit Union has given out scholarships to well deserving high school seniors. This year’s winners are: Kara Pruett, Kennedy Fortner, Blake Miller, Margaret Callihan, Madhumathi Vijayalingam.
Each year we are amazed at the quality of the candidates that apply for our scholarships. Every application is filled with merit, community service and exceptional recommendation letters from teachers and their community. It really makes it hard to narrow it down to the final six, which is a good problem to have!
In honor of Debbie Geringer’s years of dedicated service on our Board of Directors, we awarded one exceptional student, Margaret Callihan of Brentwood High School, with an honorary Debbie Geringer scholarship for $2000. This special scholarship was specifically for a student seeking the educational field in honor of Debbie’s husband and son who both taught for several years.
Please join us in wishing Debbie a wonderful retirement. We are sincerely grateful for all that she has done for West Community over the years!
Margaret plans on attending the University of Missouri – Columbia for Elementary Education in the fall.
